New Metro 2039 Trailer Confirms Release Date – February 4, 2027

Last week, as part of Gamescom 2026, 4A Games unveiled a new trailer for Metro 2039, the studio's upcoming shooter. It turns out that wasn't all, as the game was featured during the latest State of Play presentation—and, what's more, the exact release date was revealed.

A new trailer for Metro 2039, recorded directly on the PlayStation 5 Pro, was shown during the recent State of Play. It was also confirmed that the game runs with ray tracing at up to 60 fps in Performance Mode—on both the standard PlayStation 5 and the Pro version. In the trailer, we see the protagonist, The Stranger, making his way through one of the districts of a ruined moscow, engaging in a firefight with enemies inside a once-residential building along the way. Along with the release of a new trailer, 4A Games confirmed that Metro 2039 will launch on February 4 next year on PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5. This month has seen another major release added to the lineup, as titles such as Fable, God of War: Laufey, Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, and Persona 4 Revival are also coming out in February 2026.

The story of Metro 2039 centers on The Stranger—a new protagonist who opposes the Novoreich, a fascist organization led by Hunter, with whom the protagonist apparently shares a personal history.
