Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look Expectedly Became the Most Popular Show on Netflix

It's been less than a week since Rockstar's An Extended Look presentation aired on Netflix, drawing in millions of viewers worldwide, and now more detailed viewership numbers have come in. Unsurprisingly, GTA 6 topped the charts there too.

Netflix released its official viewership stats for last week, including the top 10 most-watched movies and shows. GTA 6 doesn't technically fit either category, but the video still took the top spot: An Extended Look has racked up 31.1 million views and is currently trending at number one in 87 of 93 countries. On top of that, the video's also been posted to Rockstar's official YouTube channel, where it's already closing in on 18 million views.

That's not the only record GTA 6 has broken recently. According to Stream Charts, An Extended Look became the most-watched gaming event of 2026, beating out major shows like Summer Game Fest and June's Nintendo Direct. Netflix's reach also appears to have had a real impact on sales: PS5 pre-orders reportedly jumped 606% following the premiere. Sensor Tower now estimates total copies sold could be approaching 5 million.
