GTA 6: An Extended Look Became the Biggest Gaming Stream of 2026 with Almost 4 Million Viewers

With the premiere of the GTA 6 gameplay trailer on Netflix, An Extended Look, that happened last week, Rockstar has once again pushed its upcoming project right to the top of the conversation in gaming. That's come along with a wave of new details and features about GTA 6, plus various stats, several of which are genuinely striking.

Stream Charts, for instance, released viewing data for Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look, showing the video has become the most-watched piece of gaming content this year. Views are approaching 4 million, ahead of events like Summer Game Fest (3.8 million), Nintendo Direct (3.7 million), and this June's State of Play (3 million).

It's genuinely surprising that a single game trailer can outdraw full-scale presentations, even ones from companies like Nintendo, but given the hype around GTA 6, maybe it shouldn't be. Interestingly, the An Extended Look presentation also happened to overlap with Gamescom 2026. Organizers had previously claimed they weren't worried about competition, but it's possible a chunk of their audience was drawn away that day regardless.
