Another Leaked GTA 6 Footage Features Car’s Control, Combat System, and More Details
Rockstar Games hasn't shared any new official footage of GTA 6 in quite some time, and even though “Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look” is set to premiere on Netflix next week, several leaked photos and videos from the game have surfaced in the last few hours—and they appear to be genuine, as Take-Two Interactive has already begun removing them from social media.
A hacker group known as Cyberleek is responsible for these leaks. They released the first gameplay footage —likely from an early version of GTA 6—showing Jason shooting a ball into a basketball hoop near his house, and they also shared the official GTA 6 map. Now, another glimpse of the game’s gameplay has appeared, and it looks much more interesting.
A new one-minute video featuring GTA 6 gameplay has appeared on Streamable, offering a look at the game’s vehicle physics, combat system, and how the police will operate. We see Jason behind the wheel of a Vapid ‘70 Ganado; at one point, he crashes into an NPC driving a pickup truck, and a fight breaks out between them. You’ll notice that as Jason beats up civilians, a devil icon appears on his right—apparently, this is some sort of equivalent to the honor system from Red Dead Redemption 2—and the screen begins to show some glare. In the upper-right corner, it’s also clear that Jason needs to change his car and clothes so the police will stop looking for him, and there’s an icon with his face—perhaps this is related to changing his hairstyle or adding accessories like glasses. Also, when walking past the trunk of the car, you can store up to four types of weapons. The video ends with Jason, while fleeing from the police, stopping by a helicopter—and if there’s another leak, it’s possible we’ll see how air travel is implemented in the game.
Although the videos are likely from an early build of GTA 6, the game’s graphics are impressive, and users have previously noted that Rockstar appears to have achieved 60 FPS. It’s actually surprising how these leaks made their way onto the internet, but gamers have only benefited from it—and it seems they’re looking forward to the next official GTA 6 reveal even more now.
Recent rumors also suggested the upcoming Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look will consist of three episodes, more like a Netflix miniseries, with a combined runtime of around an hour total. It premieres on Netflix August 27 at 3 p.m. ET. You can also check out how and when to watch this major event.
