Control Resonant Has Gone Gold, but Physical Release Date Has Been Postponed

There is just over a month to go until the launch of Control Resonant—Remedy Entertainment's biggest and most ambitious game so far. September is set to bring a number of major releases, and the developers have confirmed in a new post that no further delays are expected.

On its X page, Remedy announced that Control: Resonant has officially gone gold, confirming a release on September 24 for PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5. However, there is a catch: the developers have confirmed that the release date for the physical edition of the game has been postponed to October 15, as they need more time to prepare and deliver all disc versions on time, as you can check out below:

The physical release date for the game has moved to October 15th. We need just a little more time to deliver the physical version to you, but rest assured - nothing stays contained forever.

Remedy also recently released its Q2 2026 financial results, showing Control Resonant has been wishlisted over 1.5 million times, which is a strong sign of player interest. The studio's previous release, Alan Wake 2, has meanwhile sold 3 million copies. Speaking about the new title, Remedy CEO Jean-Charles Gaudechon called Control Resonant a must-have day-one purchase and stated the studio hopes to turn it into a lasting franchise. The studio has also previously discussed the possibility of a third Control game, although it’s fully dependent on the performance of Control Resonant. The studio is also working on Max Payne 1 & 2 remakes, which are currently in full production, along with a new IP still in the concept phase.

Control Resonant will release on September 24 for PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5.
