GTA 6: Biggest Unanswered Questions Amid Possible New Footage Reveal
There is a high probability that Rockstar Games will reveal new official details about Grand Theft Auto VI, the most anticipated game of 2026, already this week. Not only is there just over three months to go until its release, but other factors also point in this direction. On August 7, Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of Rockstar Games, will hold its next earnings call, but far more significant is the announcement by respected gaming insiders— NateTheHate and Tom Henderson —that GTA 6 will be revealed this month.
While the studio’s plans could change at any moment, these insiders are considered reliable sources. That said, it remains unclear whether Rockstar Games is preparing to release a new trailer or reveal the first gameplay footage of GTA 6, but there are a number of questions about the game that remain unanswered—and hopefully at least some of them will be finally resolved this month.
Will Grand Theft Auto VI Feature First-Person Mode

As we remember, to mark the release of GTA 5 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in 2014, Rockstar Games introduced a first-person perspective to the game for the first time in the franchise’s history—a feature, which, incidentally, suited the game down very well. Not only did the version of the game for the then-current-generation consoles feature higher detail and more refined visuals, but the world of Los Santos felt vastly improved. What’s more, shooting became more intuitive, and the animations became even more realistic. Rockstar Games has not yet confirmed whether GTA 6 will feature a first-person mode, but given the immense work they’ve put into refining the details, it seems an absolute necessity—and it’s quite possible that most players will choose to play the game in this way. If the studio is preparing to reveal the first gameplay footage of Grand Theft Auto VI this month, the reveal of a first-person mode would be excellent news for fans.
Photo Mode is Essential for GTA 6

The same could be argued for the inclusion of a photo mode in the game. GTA 6 fans love to closely study screenshots and clips from the game’s trailers, searching for incredible details, and the inclusion of a photo mode at launch would undoubtedly give players, if not hours, then certainly plenty of minutes to explore various locations from different angles so they could see just how meticulously Rockstar Games has worked on the project.
How Would Multiplayer Mode Look Like
One of the main mysteries surrounding GTA 6 is its multiplayer mode. It’s clear that it will draw heavily on the concept of GTA Online, just as it’s certain that it won’t be available at launch and will likely be sold separately. It will be interesting to see how Rockstar Games’ approach to the sandbox experience will change, what the missions will be like, and what other changes there will be—there are also reports that GTA 6’s multiplayer will feature official RP servers. Either way, it would be good to know more specifics on this front.
Liberty City and Connection to GTA IV

It has been confirmed that GTA 6 will have a direct connection to the fourth installment of Grand Theft Auto. As is well known, Lucia, one of the two main characters, used to live in Liberty City with her mother, apparently before moving to Vice City or before she ended up in prison. It is not yet clear whether the GTA IV setting will be limited to a mention or if we can expect full-fledged missions, as was the case with North Yankton in GTA 5, but there is a rumor that we will see footage of a redesigned Liberty City in the third GTA 6 trailer. This is yet another reason to look forward to the release of the new footage.
Will GTA 5 Characters Appear in the Sixth Installment
Rockstar Games also likes to include characters from older games in new installments of GTA. For instance, in the fifth game, Patrick McReary, Karen Daniels, Rocco Pelosi, Johnny Klebitz, Tony Prince, and even Nico Bellic—who were previously central characters in GTA IV and its DLC—made an appearance (Nico was mentioned, not appeared). It’s clear that some GTA 5 characters will feature in the sixth entry somehow, but for now, it’s hard to predict who exactly. Of course, it would be nice to see Michael, Franklin, and Trevor reunited, but that sounds too good to be true. However, it’s not out of the question that each of them will feature in one way or another, not to mention such charismatic characters as Lester, Lamar, Ron, and many others.
