Fans Have Noticed Incredible Detail in GTA 6's Water Physics

As fans eagerly await the new GTA 6 trailer, they're picking apart every hint Rockstar Games drops, while also chasing rumors and leaks—most of which turn out to be false. Plenty of players go through screenshots with a magnifying glass, hunting for hidden details. One recent find shows just how much work the developers have put into water physics in Grand Theft Auto VI.

X user DriftRespawn spotted that GTA 6's water physics might be on an entirely new level, offering realism unlike anything seen in a video game before. In one of the game’s screenshots, a character's clothes leave water marks on the yacht floor after they sit down and stand back up. That moisture, affected by temperature, gradually evaporates and dries out—yet another sign of how much detail Rockstar is packing into the game and why its development takes so long. A photo mode at launch feels almost mandatory at this point, so fans can actually explore details like this. You can check out the original post below:

The water physics in GTA 6 might be even more advanced than we imagined.

It appears that when your clothes get wet, they leave damp marks on surfaces that gradually disappear as they dry. Rockstar’s water-physics patent is really starting to show its true potential, and the level of detail is absolutely incredible.

Fans remain hopeful for a new GTA 6 trailer soon, especially after a recent rumor suggested it could drop in the coming days, sourced from someone claiming to be close to Rockstar Games’ employees. Similar rumors have appeared several times over the past few months, though, so this is probably just more speculation—but hope dies last. What makes this one interesting is that it lines up with details we've heard before: the trailer is claimed to feature The Rolling Stones' "Heartbreaker" song and scenes from both Liberty City (the GTA IV setting) and the central and northern parts of the GTA 6 map.

For now, you can also find out everything we know about GTA 6 so far—the story, gameplay, map, open world, platforms, and more - as well as how GTA 6 is reshaping the 2026 game calendar and everything about GTA 6 pre-order details: price, bonuses, exact time, and Ultimate Edition.
