Take-Two Interactive Hopes GTA 6 Will Generate $1 Billion in Operating Cash Flow

It's been almost a month since Rockstar Games announced the start of Grand Theft Auto VI pre-orders. Unfortunately, that's still the only official statement about the most anticipated video game of 2026, with less than four months left until release. Still, despite this long pause without new official content, the sales of GTA 6 are expected to be massive.

Last week, Take-Two Interactive head Strauss Zelnick held another shareholders meeting, where the CEO of Rockstar Games’ parent company confirmed GTA 6 could generate more than $1 billion in operating cash flow. As Ramp explains, operating cash flow refers to the cash a business generates from its core operations, including sales and day-to-day expenses. Given the hype around the game—which will likely keep getting bigger as the release date approaches—that number could easily be increased.

At the same meeting, Zelnick has once again reassured that GTA 6 is set to release on November 19, 2026, with the official document referring to it as a "planned November 19 launch." Take-Two also confirmed its next earnings call is set for August 7. With GTA 6's marketing expected to be more active (hopefully) by then, there's a real chance Rockstar Games reveals new details around the same time—maybe a new trailer, gameplay footage, or information about the multiplayer mode.

As for GTA 6’s potential revenue, Newzoo recently estimated GTA 6 could bring between $3.25 billion and $5.2 billion in its first week. If that happens, the game will set an all-time record for the gaming industry—one that is unlikely to be broken anytime soon.
