Insider Revealed When Ubisoft Is Planning to Release New Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry, and Ghost Recon Titles
Ubisoft currently has two releases planned for 2026, both of which are remakes. In less than a month, Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced—a revamped version of the fourth installment—will be released. Then, on October 1st, the remake of Rayman Legends, titled Rayman Legends: Retold, is set to launch; this was officially confirmed last week during the State of Play event.
Nevertheless, the French company continues to work on other projects, both announced and unannounced. In his latest report, Ubisoft leaker Rogue revealed that, according to his previous leaks, Assassin's Creed Codename Hexe, the next mainline title in the series, is expected to release in 2027, the new Far Cry installment in 2028, and the next Ghost Recon in 2029. However, this is just his speculation, and the studio's actual release plans may differ.

In a later post, the insider also revealed that Ubisoft has significantly revamped Far Cry 7, and a full announcement of the new installment will likely happen this year. Previously, they had shared details about all three projects, which even led to a temporary ban.
Interestingly, the insider completely overlooks Assassin's Creed Codename Invictus —the new multiplayer installment in the franchise, whose first footage was also recently leaked—as well as Beyond Good and Evil 2, a game that was initially announced back in 2008. Most likely, these games are still in development at Ubisoft but are not currently top priorities. Ultimately, the company’s financial report released last month confirmed that the studio aims to deliver a significantly larger content pipeline through 2029, including titles like Far Cry, Assassin’s Creed, and Ghost Recon. You can check out brief information about the abovementioned upcoming Ubisoft titles below:
- Assassin’s Creed Codename Hexe—the next mainline game in the Assassin’s Creed franchise—was announced in 2022. Set in the 16th-century Holy Roman Empire, it features a female protagonist named Anika. She is the descendant of Claudia Auditore, Ezio’s sister. The iconic Ezio Auditore is also set to make an appearance in Codename Hexe. The game loses all magical elements that were previously planned and is now expected to be more grounded. Set to release in summer 2027 but may be postponed to the holiday season the same year.
- Far Cry 7—The game is reportedly set in Alaska and rumored to feature a separate extraction mode. Might be at the final stage of development, as Ubisoft recently hired a ‘Game Production Closer’ for the game series. Rumored to release in 2027, with the official announcement possible to happen this year.
- New Ghost Recon Game— The game is reportedly set in Asia, inspired by Ready or Not, and will allow players to make their own squad, select preferable characters for missions, etc. It will also feature fewer UI elements to make it more realistic.
