Far Cry 7 Might Be in the Final Stage of Development at Ubisoft

Ubisoft is confirmed to be working on the expansion of Far Cry franchise. The latest installment of a popular game series, Far Cry 6, was released back in 2021, and the studio is reportedly working on two new franchise entries: a single-player game and a fully multiplayer title.

However, according to the latest report from gaming insider Tom Henderson, Far Cry series is currently “going through hell” as he mentioned in a recent Inside Gaming Weekly podcast, without going into detail. Despite such a disturbing report, the upcoming Far Cry 7 could still be at the final stage of development, as Ubisoft hired Paul Rouau, who is the Game production Closer in Far Cry crew. Adding to the intrigue is the fact that he is pictured against a backdrop of Far Cry 3 and Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon posters and mentions the third installment in his LinkedIn post. Fans are convinced this is a hint that he is involved in the development of Far Cry 7 and that the game may therefore be in the final stages of development.

According to previous rumors, the next standalone adventure of Far Cry could take place in Alaska or New England, and the multiplayer title will be an extraction shooter. In the above-mentioned Insider Gaming Weekly podcast, Tom Henderson revealed that Ubisoft is looking to release a new Ghost Recon game after the release of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, which is rumored to release on July 9, and Splinter Cell Remake has been postponed to 2027.

As for now, studio hasn’t revealed any details of the new Far Cry installments, so this report should be considered with a grain of salt.
