Sad news for all fans of The Witcher universe. Alexander Morton, best known for voicing Zoltan in The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, one of the games’ fan-favorite characters, has passed away at the age of 81.
The announcement comes from The Witcher's official X social media page. You can check out the statement below:
“We're deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Alexander Morton, the voice of beloved Zoltan Chivay in The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Our thoughts are with his family and friends.
Thank you for bringing Zoltan to life. The Continent is already missing you”
Morton took part as the voice actor in other video games, including Heavenly Sword and Viking: Battle for Asgard, but the role of Zoltan Chivay is definitely his most popular in the gaming segment. Besides The Witcher 4, the franchise is going to be expanded by the remake of the original Witcher title and rumored DLC to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Both projects are reportedly in development by Fool’s Theory studio.
As for The Witcher 4, the game is reportedly in development for PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5. The release date is currently unknown.
