CD Projekt RED Might Be Working On Another DLC for Cyberpunk 2077

Last month, CD Projekt RED thrilled all fans of The Witcher franchise by announcing a new DLC for the third installment—Songs of the Past—which is expected to set the stage for the upcoming fourth game in the series. Moreover, the developers teased that this year will bring even more announcements for as-yet-unrevealed projects. A recent report teased that one of these could be an expansion for Cyberpunk 2077.

As analysts from the Polish company Erste Brokerage have pointed out, CD Projekt RED has significantly increased their spending on supporting Cyberpunk 2077—reaching levels comparable to when the studio released the game's first and so far only expansion, Phantom Liberty. The source also mentions that any mysterious DLC, if it exists, is expected to be minor but will still delight players with new content and will utilize the REDengine.

Despite fans' hopes, back in March this year, CD Projekt RED confirmed that they do not plan to release a new large DLC for Cyberpunk 2077 in the style of Phantom Liberty. They believe the game's story is fully complete, and their main focus for expanding the universe is Cyberpunk 2, which is currently in active development.

Currently, in addition to Cyberpunk 2, CD Projekt RED is also working on a new Witcher trilogy, as well as Project Sirius—a multiplayer spin-off of the franchise—and a new IP titled Project Hadar, which is described as an "emotional, open-world experience." The aforementioned DLC for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Songs of the Past, is being developed by the studio Fool's Theory—the same team behind the remake of the first Witcher game, which was announced back in 2022.
