CD Projekt RED Shared First Official Details of Their New IP – Project Hadar

Currently, the Polish studio CD Projekt RED is actively working on its upcoming projects The Witcher 4 and Cyberpunk 2, but at the same time, work is also being carried out on a new IP titled Project Hadar.

Project Hadar was announced back in 2022 and is still believed to be at the early stage of development. Last year, CD Projekt Red was looking for a senior gameplay designer for the game who also has "at least 5+ years of professional experience in a similar role, preferably in RPG/action titles with melee-oriented combat". It might suggest Project Hadar will be more similar to The Witcher franchise than Cyberpunk 2077. For now, the position is closed on the developer’s website.

A new report from GamesRadar+ reveals some details about the upcoming new IP: in particular, the studio states that Project Hadar will be an "emotional, open-world experience." Also, CD Projekt RED's recent financial report disclosed that only 24 specialists are currently working on the game, which confirms the fact that the game is still far from the active development stage.

In addition to the aforementioned The Witcher 4 (which will be part of a new trilogy) and Cyberpunk 2, CD Projekt RED is also developing Project Sirius—the multiplayer spin-off of The Witcher franchise. Meanwhile, the studio Fool's Theory is working on a remake of the first part of The Witcher, as well as a new DLC for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt titled Songs of the Past, which, after a series of rumors, was announced at the end of last month.
