Remedy Confirmed the Release Date for Control Resonant And the Return of Familiar Character

The latest State of Play event delighted fans not only with surprise announcements but also by providing long-awaited release dates for several confirmed titles. Among them is Control Resonant from Remedy Entertainment.

Control Resonant was officially unveiled at last year’s The Game Awards. While a 2026 release window was previously announced, a specific date had not been confirmed until now. That has finally changed; the new story trailer, which you can check out below, confirms that Control Resonant will launch on September 24.

As is known, Control Resonant will introduce a new protagonist: Dylan Faden, the brother of the lead character from the first game. Nevertheless, the trailer also confirmed the return of Jesse, whom Dylan will be searching for throughout the game, according to current plot details. Together, they will seemingly battle supernatural entities within a distorted version of Manhattan. The developers also confirmed that Control Resonant will explore the consequences of the protagonist’s life following his time under the custody of the Federal Bureau of Control in the first game.

Previously, rumors suggested that Control Resonant would launch on June 30, though fans remained skeptical, citing an impossibly short development window. Now that the official release date has been confirmed, it is clear that September is becoming a crowded month, with Marvel's Wolverine (September 15), Silent Hill: Townfall (September 24—the same day as Control Resonant), and Onimusha: Sword of the Way (September 25) all hitting the market. The clustering of these major titles in September appears to be a calculated industry move, likely intended to clear space ahead of GTA 6’s launch in November.

Remedy, in turn, is also developing Max Payne 1 & 2 remakes, which are now in full production, as well as a new IP, which is currently at the concept stage.
