Saber Interactive Announced Stuntman: Hollywood - Stunt Performer Simulator Arcade Racing Title

The first footage of Saber Interactive's new project, unveiled during the State of Play, had many speculating that the studio was working on a title set within the Fast & Furious universe. However, as scenes from various other high-budget blockbusters followed, it was revealed to be a new game titled Stuntman: Hollywood.

As the title implies, the project invites players to step into the shoes of a stunt performer, taking on a variety of dangerous, vehicle-based stunts and challenges on a film set. The debut trailer for Stuntman: Hollywood you can check out below:

The developers have also revealed the first details of the project. Saber Interactive drew inspiration from the Burnout series and Split/Second, where destructible environments were just as central to the gameplay as the competitive elements. The gameplay of Stuntman: Hollywood is structured like a real film production, divided into individual scenes where the player must perform stunts under strict time constraints.

Additionally, Saber Interactive confirmed that they have secured a licensing agreement with Universal Pictures. As shown in the trailer, the game will feature iconic scenes from films such as Back to the Future, Fast & Furious, Knight Rider, Miami Vice, and Death Race. Should the game achieve strong financial performance, the developers may be able to secure licensing agreements with additional studios, such as Paramount Pictures or MGM.

It is also worth noting that this is not the first game with such a concept and title. In 2002, Reflections Interactive released the game Stuntman on PlayStation 2, and five years later, a different studio, Paradigm Entertainment, released the sequel, Stuntman: Ignition. It is likely that the new installment will be connected to the previous ones by title only, as no other link between the projects has been confirmed at this time.
