NVIDIA plans major ARM deal
US tech giant NVIDIA plans to buy another major ARM processor company. According to Bloomerg, the deal could reach $ 40 billion, but there is a small snag. To complete the transaction, it must be approved by regulators.
If the agreement is signed, NVIDIA will pay $ 21.5 billion in shares and $ 12 billion in cash. On top of that, ARM's owner SoftBank could raise an additional $ 5 billion if ARM meets the target. Following the deal, ARM employees will receive $ 1.5 billion in shares.
If the sale takes place, it will be a record for the SoftBank holding. Against the background of this news, shares of the Japanese company have already jumped 10%. The final word remains with the regulators.
The deal must be confirmed in China, the United States, the European Union and the United Kingdom. The whole process can take 18 months.
