While GPU prices keep breaking records, gaming chairs are a different story. If now isn’t the best time to upgrade your PC, you can refresh your setup with a chair from Blacklyte. Pro players and well-known esports organizations choose this brand’s chairs, so they’ll keep you comfortable even through the longest gaming sessions.

The price hikes go well beyond the flagship. Here’s what the cheapest models currently cost in the US and how far above MSRP they are:

  • RTX 5080: $2,200 (+120%; +77% globally on average)
  • RTX 5070 Ti: $1,250 (+67%)
  • RTX 5070: $900 (+64%)
  • RTX 5060 Ti 16GB: $790 (+84%)
  • RTX 5050: $420 (+69%)
  • Radeon RX 9070 XT: $870 (+45%)

TechSpot names the memory shortage as the main cause. AI data centers are buying up DRAM and GDDR7, so cards with 16GB of VRAM have gone up the most. Memory alone, however, can’t explain why the RTX 5080 rose by about $700. TechSpot also points to demand from the AI industry, scalpers, and limited supply.

RTX 5090 prices are also affected by rumors that Nvidia has stopped producing the card, which the company denies. Earlier reports also said that Amazon is buying up Nvidia AI chips in bulk, although that doesn’t directly affect the gaming GPU shortage.
