Microsoft Announced the Reducing of Xbox Game Pass Price
The current CEO of Microsoft Gaming, Asha Sharma, has repeatedly stated that the price of the monthly Xbox Game Pass subscription is too high. It seems that Microsoft has listened to her, and two months after her appointment, steps have finally been taken to change the pricing policy.
A new blog has been unveiled on Xbox Wire, and it’s dedicated to Xbox Game Pass. Asha Sharma has announced that, starting today, Microsoft is reducing the price for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate—from $29.99 to $22.99—and PC Game Pass is also receiving a reduction—from $16.49 a month to $13.99 a month. Moreover, after initial rumors about Call of Duty leaving Xbox Game Pass on Day One, Sharma also confirmed that franchise titles will not join Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass on Day One. Further statements from the CEO of Microsoft Gaming you can check out below:
“Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers will continue to have access to hundreds of games on Xbox console and PC including current Call of Duty titles, in-game benefits, online console multiplayer, and major day one releases.
Our players cover a wide breadth of geographies, preferences, and tastes, so while there isn’t a single model that’s best for everyone, this change responds to a lot of feedback we’ve gotten so far. We’ll continue to listen and learn.”
Back in March, Asha Sharma revealed that she wants to make “future consoles and products like Game Pass more enticing” and available for wider audience, and reducing Xbox Game Pass Ultimate might the first actual step for company’s new strategy.
