Insider Reveals Naughty Dog Plans for Uncharted 5 and The Last of Us: Part III
There are plenty of rumors about the future titles developed by Naughty Dog—the studio, which has made a name for itself thanks to such game series as Uncharted and The Last of Us. We know that the studio is officially working on their new IP, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, announced at The Game Awards 2024, but, according to a new report, there are, at least, two new projects in the works.
Last week, it was revealed that Naughty Dog worked on Uncharted 5 before the COVID-19 pandemic, but we don’t know if that version of the game exists now. Also, the director of Uncharted: The Lost Record, Shaun Escayg, has posted a mystery photo, which fans interpreted as a potential teaser for a new Uncharted game, since it was made in a style very similar to that of the game franchise. And now, gaming insider Alir, who was the first to reveal that a new Metro video game will be announced on April 16, which is now almost a guarantee as another notable scooper, NateTheHate, confirmed it, reveals that Naughty Dog’s second mystery game is the new Uncharted. He also confirmed Nathan Drake will be in this game, and the title is directed by Shaun Escayg, the director of Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, who recently posted a possible teaser.
Moreover, Alir also shared information about other projects from Naughty Dog. He revealed that the third title the studio is working on is the third installment of The Last of Us, as he commented, “As for the third game (because, yeah, there is a third one), we all know what it is,” and their new IP, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, will be released in 2027.
As for now, Naughty Dog hasn’t confirmed any of these possible leaks, so this report should be considered with a grain of salt. But if this is true, the studio is looking ambitious about their upcoming projects.
