CDPR Shuts Down Rumors Of A Witcher DLC Reveal At TGA 2025
A report from Polish insider RockAlone2k suggested CD Projekt Red was preparing to announce a new Witcher DLC at The Game Awards 2025, framing it as a narrative bridge between The Witcher 3 and the next mainline release. The claim circulated quickly, supported by the insider’s reputation and his long-standing ties to the studio. The post implied that the reveal would occur during the show’s broadcast.
CDPR moved to halt the speculation within hours. During the company’s investor call, joint CEO Michał Nowakowski stated that the studio would not present any new content at this year’s ceremony. He described the team’s presence at the event as strictly tied to The Witcher 4’s nomination for Most Anticipated Game, not to any form of announcement or trailer. Around 100 developers at Fool’s Theory are contributing to a separate unannounced project, but no details were linked to tonight’s show.
Nowakowski reiterated the position on social media, noting that the studio values the nomination but plans no reveals at TGA 2025.
“Thanks to everyone who has already voted,” he wrote. “We won’t be bringing any new content to TGA this year, but we’re excited to watch the show and celebrate this industry’s great night alongside all of you.” — Michał Nowakowski
The clarification leaves the rumored DLC without supporting evidence. CDPR has not indicated any plans to return to The Witcher 3 with new expansions, and all confirmed development resources remain focused on The Witcher 4 and internal projects already in production.
Read also, CD Projekt has outlined a plan to ship The Witcher 4, 5, and 6 within six years. Nearly 450 developers are now assigned to the first title, supported by long-term adaptation to Unreal Engine 5. CDPR says the engine transition has stabilized and will anchor the release cadence across the trilogy.
