Genshin Impact Version 6.1 Reveals New Characters and the Miliastra Wonderland Sandbox Mode

Genshin Impact has officially unveiled Version 6.1, titled Luna II, during its latest developer livestream. The upcoming update will expand the Song of the Welkin Moon storyline while debuting the long-awaited Miliastra Wonderland, a sandbox-style mode designed to give players unprecedented creative freedom. Set to launch on October 22, 2025, Version 6.1 marks one of the game’s most ambitious updates yet.

✨ Major Additions in Version 6.1

Version 6.1 introduces Nefer, the first Dendro hypercarry since Version 5.0, alongside the open beta for Miliastra Wonderland. From a narrative perspective, players will finally face Rerir, one of the Five Sinners of Khaenri’ah and the central antagonist of Nod-Krai.

🎭 Event Banners and Characters

Players can look forward to an exciting rotation of Event Banners in Version 6.1:

• Phase 1:Nefer and Furina
• Phase 2:Arlecchino and Zhongli

The Flagship Event for this update will take players back to Sumeru, featuring Dehya and Candace in a mix of combat trials, puzzles, and minigames. Additionally, two long-anticipated characters — Durin and Varka — will make their first in-game appearances, with Durin finally becoming a playable character after years of lore teases.

🌿 Nefer – The Dendro Hypercarry

The Special Program gave fans a detailed look at Nefer’s kit. Designed as a Lunar-Bloom hypercarry, Nefer transforms Dendro Cores into Seeds of Deceit, empowering her Charged Attacks and amplifying her team’s burst potential. Her synergy with Hydro and Dendro characters like Aino, Yelan, Xingqiu, Nahida, and Baizhu makes her a highly versatile unit.

Nefer’s Support option, Lauma, further enhances her playstyle, boosting Bloom damage output and reaction consistency across team compositions.

🧩 Miliastra Wonderland – Genshin’s Sandbox Revolution

One of the most exciting reveals is Miliastra Wonderland, a fully interactive sandbox mode that lets players create, customize, and share their own Genshin-inspired worlds.

Players will be able to:

• 🧍‍♀️ Create and customize their personal avatar (Manekin)
• 🎨 Design modular outfits through crafting, in-game purchases, or banner pulls
• 🏗️ Build unique experiences using the Miliastra Sandbox, a toolset supported by official documentation for easy creation, even without coding skills
• 💰 Earn revenue via a new Creator Incentive Program, which rewards players based on engagement and playtime of their creations

Notably, Miliastra Wonderland will include its own gacha system, but players who purchase the standard Genshin Impact Battle Pass will receive Miliastra’s Battle Pass for free.
