Hellblade 2 Enhanced Update Released With New NVIDIA Driver Optimisation
The Enhanced Update for Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 is now out on PC, and it’s completely free. The patch brings DLSS 4 with Multi-Frame Generation for smoother performance, a new “Very High” graphics preset for maxing out visuals, Dolby Atmos support, an Enhanced Photo Mode, and better Steam Deck performance. It also fixes several bugs, ranging from visual glitches like Senua’s hair turning white in certain scenes to gameplay problems with collision, inputs, and combat behaviour. NVIDIA has paired this update with the GeForce Game Ready 580.97 WHQL driver, optimised specifically for Hellblade 2 Enhanced Edition and its DLSS 4 features, while also ironing out a couple of unrelated monitor and laptop issues.
This Enhanced Update makes a big push on the visual and performance side. DLSS 4 now comes with Multi-Frame Generation, giving RTX 50-series GPU owners a performance boost by generating additional frames in between rendered ones. Even older RTX cards benefit from the Transformer Model improvements in DLSS 4 Super Resolution, delivering a sharper, cleaner image. Players with top-tier rigs can tap into the new “Very High” graphics preset, pushing the game’s environments, lighting, and character detail further than before. Dolby Atmos for speakers has been added for more immersive audio, while DualSense controller support broadens input options. The Enhanced Photo Mode allows for detailed captures of Hellblade 2’s atmospheric world. For portable play, Steam Deck users get verified status plus performance optimisations that help keep framerates more stable on the handheld.
Bug fixes in this update target both visuals and gameplay flow. One of the more visible issues, where Senua’s hair could suddenly turn white under certain lighting conditions in Chapter 4, “Act of Sacrifice,” or in Chapter 2, “Return Home,” with Intel XeSS or AMD FSR Ultra Performance, is resolved. An input bug that caused the “Hold” setting for button-mash events to sometimes fail now works correctly. Several collision issues are fixed, including objects losing collision after skipping the Astridr forest cutscene in Chapter 6 and an elevated area in Chapter 5 where Senua could unexpectedly die during the Sea Giant’s ritual.
There are also tweaks to improve combat reliability. In Chapter 6, enemies no longer continue attack sequences after knocking Senua down against a wall during the second fight. Northman enemies have had their awkward spinning when struck from behind with Focus attacks addressed. In Chapter 5, subtitle sync during the Draugr fight is now correct, and the Goði won’t suddenly appear behind Senua during certain finishing animations. Environmental interactions, such as Senua’s footprints in the Chapter 4 caves after the Trial of Wisdom checkpoint, now behave as intended. A disappearing Hiddenfolk puzzle when changing graphics presets is fixed, and a missing speaker from subtitles after pausing and resuming the game no longer occurs. Menu narration has also been polished across multiple sections.
Beyond game fixes, NVIDIA’s GeForce Game Ready 580.97 WHQL driver is now available, tuned for Hellblade 2 Enhanced Edition and also for Grand Theft Auto V Enhanced Edition with DLSS 4 MFG support. While the driver brings no new in-game bug fixes beyond these optimisations, it resolves a couple of hardware-specific issues. Samsung’s massive 57″ Odyssey Neo G9 no longer suffers flicker or screen underflow while idle on the desktop. On some laptops, a dim display problem when connecting an external HDR monitor with “NVIDIA GPU only” display mode has been resolved.

The driver doesn’t come with a new NVIDIA App version, and if you’re not playing Hellblade 2 or GTA 5 Enhanced, you could skip it. But for those jumping into the updated Hellblade 2 with DLSS 4 MFG, it’s worth grabbing for the smoothest performance and stability. Cyberpunk 2077 still has an open issue with Photo Mode crashing when path tracing is on, Counter-Strike 2 may show slight text distortion at non-native resolutions, and Adobe Premiere Pro can freeze on some systems during export with hardware encoding — so these are still being tracked for future driver releases.
Both the Enhanced Update and the Game Ready driver are live now. Steam and Microsoft Store will automatically update Hellblade 2 when launched, and the driver can be downloaded from NVIDIA’s official site. For anyone with the hardware to take advantage of DLSS 4 or the new “Very High” preset, this is the most polished and optimised version of Hellblade 2 yet. The bug fixes also make the game’s cinematic flow smoother, removing visual oddities and gameplay interruptions that could break immersion. Whether playing on a high-end desktop, a laptop, or the Steam Deck, this update delivers improvements across the board without costing a cent.

With NVIDIA’s driver tuning performance and the patch bringing both visual and quality-of-life upgrades, Hellblade 2’s Enhanced Edition is now positioned as the definitive PC experience for the game. The blend of technical enhancements, audio upgrades, controller support, and a more stable gameplay foundation sets it up well for new players and returning fans alike.
Speaking of Ray Tracing, here's a selection of games that support it perfectly.
Breaking down the fixes more closely, the visual tweaks remove immersion-breaking moments like hair rendering errors, strange lighting reactions, and vanishing environmental assets after cutscene skips. Combat behaviour has been made more consistent, eliminating lingering attack animations after knockdowns, bizarre enemy spinning, and mid-fight subtitle desyncs. Level navigation is smoother with corrected collisions and grounded character footprints. Even the smaller adjustments, such as restoring puzzle visibility after graphics changes and preventing subtitle elements from disappearing, point to a more polished and predictable game state. These cumulative improvements may seem small in isolation but together they clear away a surprising number of rough edges, making the updated Hellblade 2 feel like a cleaner, more technically confident production.
