The Witcher 4 Is Confirmed to Feature NVIDIA RTX Mega Geometry Technology

CD Projekt RED is actively developing The Witcher 4—the next installment of the fan-favorite saga. The upcoming title will have a few differences in comparison to the previous title—The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. It is confirmed that Ciri will be the main character, and The Witcher 4 will use Unreal Engine 5 instead of CD Projekt RED’s own engine, REDengine.

Although some fans are still disturbed over Unreal Engine 5 being used in The Witcher 4 development, the game is reportedly being worked on for five years and will be well optimized. The latest report from NVIDIA, as reported by Wccftech, now reveals the game will use updated RTX Mega Geometry technology, which allows for a better frame rate, lower VRAM usage, and, more importantly, a better picture. As we know, The Witcher 4 is expected to have a huge open world with forest areas, and RTX Mega Geometry will let the developers show the best quality settings yet, including the ray-tracing structure.

NVIDIA’s RTX Mega Geometry technology is uniting millions of triangles that make up a huge number of objects and making them visible in the best way possible. The clusters are being compressed and cached through different frames. The first time RTX Mega Geometry technology was used was in Alan Wake 2; thanks to the feature, the game received a huge boost of FPS (5-20%) by saving about 300 MB of VRAM. Remedy is also confirmed to use RTX Mega Geometry in the upcoming Control Resonant.

As for The Witcher 4, the game currently doesn’t have a release date. CD Projekt RED previously teased a new trailer that could be revealed this summer during Unreal Fest 2026. The studio is also reportedly working on a new DLC for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, with Fool’s Studio serving as developers.
