Genshin Impact Unveils Ambitious Sandbox UCG Mode

HoYoverse has officially lifted the curtain on a major new addition to Genshin Impact — a sandbox-style User Generated Content (UCG) mode that will let players create, share, and play custom experiences. This standalone module will feature public lobbies, deep creative tools, and even custom character creation, marking one of the boldest expansions in the game’s history.

While Genshin has dabbled in creativity-focused systems like Divine Ingenuity and the Serenitea Pot, this new UCG platform is designed as a separate entity rather than an integrated feature. The inspiration comes directly from the inventive content players have already made — but this time, HoYoverse is giving fans full creative freedom, with leaks hinting at coding capabilities and extensive character customization.

🛠 A Next-Level Creative Toolkit

First revealed to the Chinese community on August 8, 2025, the UCG mode is now confirmed for a global rollout by the end of 2025. The toolkit will empower players to design everything from small multiplayer minigames to fully fleshed-out single-player adventures — and share them seamlessly with the community.

Leaked gameplay footage suggests the mode may be called Miliastra Wonderland, featuring:

  • Co-op for up to 8 players 🤝
  • A rumored cosmetic-focused gacha system (separate from the main game) 🎁
  • Flexible creation tools for both casual and advanced builders

📅 Possible Release Window

While HoYoverse hasn’t given an exact release date, industry insiders believe the most likely debut is Version 6.1. This would allow players to first explore the new Nod-Krai region in Version 6.0’s Song of the Welkin Moon update before diving into the sandbox.

If not in 6.1, the next target is Version 6.2, launching December 3, 2025.

🌐 Strengthening Co-op Play

One of HoYoverse’s clear goals is to expand Genshin’s multiplayer appeal. The UCG mode could be a turning point, offering public and private lobbies where creators and players meet without the limitations of the current co-op system.
