New Horde Assault Mode and Gameplay Features Highlighted in Days Gone Remaster

At the February State of Play presentation, Sony unveiled the highly anticipated remaster of the biker zombie action game Days Gone, which promises players a variety of exciting new features. One of the key additions is the new arcade mode, Horde Assault, where players will face off against massive hordes of zombies, trying to survive as long as possible and earn points.

In Horde Assault, the main objective is survival. Players will move around the map, avoiding zombies and collecting points. The longer they survive, the higher their final score will be. Throughout the game, players will unlock various rewards, including cosmetic items and six new playable characters. Each run begins with only a pistol, and more powerful weapons must be found in the world. In addition to survival, players will be able to complete mini-objectives to earn special modifiers that add variety to the gameplay.

The developers have revealed 24 different modifiers, split into two types: positive and negative. Some examples include:

  • Explosive Freakers — Zombies explode upon death, dealing damage to surrounding enemies.
  • Bounty — Hordes become even more aggressive in their pursuit of the protagonist.

In addition to the Horde Assault mode, the remaster of Days Gone will offer other exciting features for fans of the game:

  • A new hardcore difficulty mode with only one life.
  • A speedrun mode for those looking to complete the game as quickly as possible.
  • Expanded photo mode functionality for capturing unique shots.
  • Additional accessibility settings to make the game more comfortable for all players.

Days Gone: Remastered will be released on April 25, 2025, for PlayStation 5 with PlayStation VR2 support. PlayStation 4 players who own the original game will be able to upgrade to the new version for just $10. For PC players, all the new features will be available as part of the separate DLC Broken Road, which will also launch on April 25.

The remaster of Days Gone is set to be a real treat for fans, with enhanced graphics, new modes, and a wealth of content.
