Hopetown from the Creators of Disco Elysium Now Has a Steam Page

Longdue Games, the new studio formed by developers who previously worked on the critically acclaimed Disco Elysium, has officially launched the Steam page for their upcoming project — a "psychogeographic RPG" titled Hopetown. The page features previously revealed materials, including several atmospheric screenshots and a brief teaser trailer.

According to the game’s description, Hopetown will initially support three languages, including Russian, while English will be the only voiceover available at launch. The developers have also confirmed that Italian, German, French, and Spanish localizations will be added in the future.

Currently, the Steam page features only one new screenshot, but excitement surrounding the project is building rapidly. Simultaneously, the game’s Kickstarter campaign continues to exceed expectations, having already raised over $125,000 — nearly four times the original goal. The initial funding target was reached within the first three hours of the campaign going live.

One of the campaign’s stretch goals has already been unlocked: Paweł Błaszczak, known for his work on The Witcher, will compose additional music for the game. Fans can continue to support Hopetown on Kickstarter until April 16.

The developers emphasize that the crowdfunding campaign is primarily a way to demonstrate public interest to potential investors. Most of the game’s budget will be covered through investment funding, not player donations. The original goal of £25,000 represents only a small fraction of the total budget.

“Even this level of support shows investors how much demand there is for the game and will help convince them to join us,” the studio stated.

Hopetown is currently being developed for PC, with console versions for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series potentially in the pipeline — digital console copies are already available among the backer rewards. While an official release date has not been set, the delivery timeline for supporter bonuses points to a 2028 launch window.
