Apex Legends Unleashes Season 21 'Upheaval': New Legends, Solos Mode Return, and Exciting Void-Themed Updates!
The latest trailer for Apex Legends unveils an exciting array of new features, including fresh cosmetics, customizable artifacts, finishers, and more, all launching with the new season titled Upheaval. This season introduces a new legend and brings back a fan-favorite limited-time mode, alongside significant alterations to one of the game maps.
Starting today, Apex Legends Season 21, dubbed Upheaval, rolls out, marking the debut of Alter, a nefarious new legend wielding void powers to support allies and terrify foes. The developers reveal that Alter has been under development since the previous year.
To mark Alter's introduction, several legends and weapons will be adorned with void-themed cosmetics as showcased in the "Into the Void" trailer. Owners of the Premium Battle Pass will gain access to legendary skins for characters such as Alter, Wraith, Catalyst, Seer, and Revenant, and new weapon skins, including the Reactive 30-30. This pass also offers Exotic Shards and other in-game currencies. Meanwhile, the free version of the Battle Pass provides a skin for Valkyrie, 11 weapon skins, skydive emotes, and currency. Additionally, all players can obtain a special void skin for Caustic through the season’s Apex Packs.
Season 21 also introduces customizable Artifacts, mythic-tier heirloom melee weapons available to all legends. Players can evolve these artifacts using Exotic Shards, which are purchasable in the store or collectible through specific events, including 10 shards available from the Upheaval Battle Pass. Each artifact can undergo up to four upgrades and varies in material. Those who previously acquired the Cobalt Katar during the Shadow Society event will benefit from an early advantage.
A much-anticipated feature of the Upheaval season is the return of the Solos mode, replacing Duos from May 7th to June 24th. This limited-time mode will include new functionalities like Battle Sense for detecting nearby enemies, the chance to discover fully equipped weapons in crates, and a Second Chance feature, allowing defeated players to re-enter the battle. Additionally, the Broken Moon map will introduce new Points of Interest (POIs) and will be set between Cleo and Boreas in outer space. All these updates are available starting today with the launch of Season 21.
