EA Sports Cup became the second most popular event in the discipline in 2022
The well-known analytical service Esports Charts has presented data on the overall popularity of FIFA championships in 2022. The recent EA Sports Cup was the second most watched event in the discipline last year, despite having the highest airtime collection among competitors.
The most popular match of the event gathered 134,000 simultaneous viewers. It was a meeting between the FUTWIZ and Guild Esports teams, in which the fate of the ticket to the playoffs was decided. At the same time, not a single playoff match made it into the TOP-5 in terms of popularity, summing up unfortunate results for the competition as a whole.
However, the EA Sports Cup was the second most popular event in the discipline last year, second only to the FIFA eWorld Cup 2022, which brought in just over 149,000. At the same time, the championship attracted more viewers than the Eligella Content Creator Cups 1 and 2, which were attended by some of the most popular content creators.
Fans watched the EA Sports Cup for over 1.9 million hours, and 62,000 viewers regularly watched the best players in the world fight for the title.
EA Sports Cup was held from October 17 to January 18 in London. As part of the championship, twenty partner clubs from Europe, Japan, Brazil, North and South America and the Middle East competed for a combined prize pool of $250,000.
