G2 Esports parts ways with Apex Legends roster
The European esports organization G2 Esports has announced the parting with its Apex Legends roster. The club has also decided to leave the competitive scene they have maintained since February 2019. This is the third resignation of a large organization from Apex Legends after the departure of Cloud9 and Team Liquid earlier in December.
Today we are leaving the competitive scene in Apex Legends. Thank you for being our champions - Dezignful, Resultuh and ChaoticMuch.
The former roster of G2 Esports was formed in the summer of 2021. During this time, the North American team has undergone minor changes, but still managed to win UMG - Champions Invitational, DreamHack Influencer Invitational - North America, Box Fight Championship - Apex Cup #12, JBL Quantum Cup 2021 and Esports Arena: Series E Season 4 Pro Tournament #five.
In addition, the team made it to the top three at UMG - Champions Invitational 2, Grayson Allen's Apex Invitational, SteelSeries Prime Cup, Chōmetsu Apex 2 - Chōmetsu Carry and Proving Grounds: Season 5 - Finals, and also took part in ALGS: 2021 Split 1 Pro League - North America (4th), ALGS: 2022 Split 1 Playoffs - North America (8th), ALGS: 2022 Split 2 Pro League - North America (4th), ALGS Championship 2021 - North America (11th) and Apex Legends Global Series: Split 2 Playoffs (35th).
Apex Legends Global Series 2022-23: Split 1 Pro League - North America was the last championship for the G2 Esports roster, according to the results of which the team took 17th place and failed to qualify for the Split 1 Playoffs.
The team is expected to continue to exist separately. In particular, the former captain of Dezignful announced the search for a new organization for the next year.
