ALEX and mezii join fnatic
British esports organization fnatic has decided to freshen up its Swedish CS: GO roster by finally bringing together an international team. From now on, the organization was joined by two Britons - ALEX and mezii, who a year ago tried to revive the glory of Cloud9 side by side.
A few weeks ago, fnatic made it clear that it was going to reconsider its views on the question of staffing its roster by removing JW and Golden from the roster. At the same time, there were rumors that the organization is considering the option of inviting two players with a British passport, thereby presenting the first international squad since the existence of the discipline.
Now the organization has officially confirmed all the rumors, thereby ending the lengthy conversations of the chief game director of fnatic about the return of the eminent team to the first roles of the world stage.
ALEX is set to become the new team captain, leading fnatic at the upcoming ESL Pro League Season 14. The 25-year-old Briton made his first appearance at the end of 2018, becoming part of Team Vitality. Together with him, the team quickly burst into the professional scene, winning several tournaments, including cs_summit 4 and EPICENTER 2019. However, in the fall of last year, ALEX accepted the challenge to return Cloud9's fame, showing itself only at BLAST Premier: Fall 2020 Showdown. Ultimately, the Briton left the team and even managed to play several matches in VALORANT, thinking about switching to another discipline.
“I am honored to have the opportunity to represent such a legendary team. I have nothing but respect for the legacy that past teams have created here and I know there is a big gap that needs to be filled. I look forward to working with fnatic for development of the team both on the server and beyond,"said the new captain of fnatic.
mezii became famous last year, becoming ALEX's teammate in Cloud9. However, after the failed project, the player remained in the discipline, accepting the invitation from Endpoint. Together with the mezii team, he played at ESL Pro League Season 13, and also took second place in the last Pinnacle Cup II.
From now on, fnatic's roster looks like this:
- KRiMZ.
- Jackinho.
- Brollan.
- ALEX.
- mezii.
- Samuelsson (trainer).
