CS: GO Developers Promote Stability - Valve Will Finish Teams Using the Sixth Player
Valve has posted updated RMR Series Ranking Points Rules on the official developer blog. According to the innovations, for using the sixth player, the team will lose 20% of the total amount of RMR points earned in the ranking championship. In addition, the sixth team member will need to register in advance.
The teams will be able to use the help of the substitute player both before the match and between the maps. As such, the sixth player meta can suffer a lot. After the substitute esportsman plays in the match, the main player will have the right to play with his teammates without penalty for points. If, after his return, the team again requests support for the substitution, the squad will again lose 20% of the rating points.
Line-change penalties in the middle of a tournament are not the only penalties a team can receive for changing players. For a change to eSports in the middle of a rating season, the team will lose 20% of rating points accumulated over the entire season for each player. If there are 3 or more substitutions, the club's achievements will be leveled.
Valve's updated rulebook prohibits players from interacting with a coach during matches, which you can read about here.
