ENCE disbands Counter-Strike 2 roster and announces a new stage of development
European esports organization ENCE has officially announced the disbandment of its current Counter-Strike 2 roster. The club shared the news on its page on X. After a series of disappointing results and inconsistent performances on the international stage, the organization decided to reset its approach to building the team. This decision effectively closes another chapter in ENCE’s history and opens the door for major changes in the future.
The team’s last major achievement came in 2024, when ENCE claimed the title at Elisa Masters Espoo 2024. On that occasion, the team confidently went through the tournament bracket and secured the trophy in front of a home Finnish crowd. Since that victory, ENCE has not managed to repeat a similar success at major international events.
ENCE’s results at the start of 2026
During the first three months of 2026, ENCE’s results in Counter-Strike 2 remained rather modest. The team was unable to compete for titles and mostly finished tournaments in mid-table or lower positions.
At the start of the year, ENCE placed 17–32nd in the BLAST Bounty Winter 2026 Closed Qualifier, followed by 5–8th place in the IEM Rio 2026 Open Qualifier and at CCT Season 3 European Series #13. In subsequent events, the team also failed to rise above the middle of the standings — finishing 9–16th at CCT Season 3 European Series #14, as well as 5–6th at Copenhagen Gaming Week 2026 and DraculaN Season 5.
In addition, the roster finished 5–6th at the Intel Extreme Masters Atlanta 2026: Global Qualifier, while at the Stake Ranked Episode 1: Closed Qualifier the team once again ended its run in the 9–16th place range.
As a result, during the first three months of 2026, ENCE’s current lineup failed to reach new heights or secure significant results on the international stage.
ENCE explains the reasons behind the roster disbandment
ENCE also commented on its decision to disband the Counter-Strike 2 roster, explaining that the organization plans to begin a new stage of development.
“The next chapter of ENCE”
“The current esports ecosystem has made it increasingly difficult for organizations like ours to reach the highest level of international Counter-Strike. Instead of continuing down the same path, we have decided to reset and build something new with a long-term perspective.
We are refocusing ENCE on our home — Finland.
Our goal is clear: rebuild our Counter-Strike team with Finnish talent at its core and develop the next generation of Finnish stars — a new era of #EZ4ENCE.
As part of this transition, the current CS2 main roster and coaching staff have been moved to the bench and are available for transfer negotiations.
The next steps of our new chapter will be revealed soon.”
The last lineup of ENCE in Counter-Strike 2 was:
- Viktor Orudzhev (sdy)
- Paavo Heiskanen (podi)
- Ryan Aubry (Neityu)
- Maciej Miklas (F1KU)
- Szymon Mrozek (kRaSnaL)
- Niclas Krumhorn (enkay J) - coach
Following the disbandment of the international roster, ENCE’s future will likely be tied to returning to its national identity and developing local players. Focusing on Finnish talent could help the organization build a more stable long-term project and reconnect with its fan base in Finland. At the same time, such an approach will require time, as young players will need experience to compete at the highest level of the Counter-Strike 2 scene. If ENCE manages to build the right development system and assemble a promising roster, the team could eventually return to competing at major international tournaments.
