Valve has released a significant monthly update to its Regional Standings, which will determine invitations to several tier-one tournaments in the first half of the 2025 season.

Key Tournaments and Invitation Criteria

The updated standings will be used to allocate invitations for upcoming major events, including:

BLAST Open Lisbon (March 19-30)

  • 12 spots awarded via Global VRS for the main event
  • 16 spots via NA/SA/Asia/EU regional qualifiers

PGL Bucharest (April 5-13)

  • 12 spots by Global VRS for the main event
  • 24 spots by NA/SA/EU regional qualifiers, plus additional spots from sub-regional Asia qualifiers

YaLLa Compass Qatar (April 15-20)

  • 6 teams qualified via Global VRS for the main event
  • 12 teams via Global VRS for the closed qualifier

IEM Melbourne (April 21-27)

  • 2 spots via Europe VRS
  • 2 spots via Americas VRS
  • 2 spots via Asia VRS
  • 10 spots via Global VRS

IEM Dallas (May 19-25)

  • 5 spots via Europe VRS for the main event
  • 1 spot via NA VRS
  • 1 spot via SA VRS
  • 1 spot via Asia VRS
  • 10 spots via Europe VRS for EU closed qualifier
  • 2 spots each via NA, SA, and Asia VRS for their respective closed qualifiers

Note: Invitations will be determined in the order of European, then Americas, then Asia, and finally Global, as per ESL's rulebook.

If a team falls below the theoretical cut-off for an invitation, it does not necessarily mean they will be excluded. Some teams may decline their invitations, as seen with PGL Cluj-Napoca, where only half of the top 10 teams accepted their invites. In such cases, the next highest-ranked eligible team in the corresponding VRS will receive the invitation.
