FACEIT changes account deactivation system

The administrators of the well-known esports platform FACEIT have announced changes to the account deactivation system. Now players who have requested deactivation of their account will be able to return within six months. Reportedly, these changes are an attempt to make the platform fairer for all players.

On February 28, we are going to change the way we process account deactivation requests. Once your account is deactivated, it cannot be reactivated for 6 months.

Once deactivated, it is strictly forbidden to create a new account unless our support team provides you with an exception. Users who violate this policy change will have their new account permanently banned and their main account banned for 12 months.

Users have been using deactivation as a way to abuse our platform for far too long and we hope this change will help prevent this and make FACEIT a fairer platform for all of our players.

We will evaluate this change and how it will affect the platform as we are always looking to improve our support processes to ensure we offer the highest quality service.

It is reported that the changes will come into force on February 28. Once an account is deactivated, users will be prevented from creating new accounts unless the support team makes an exception (probably applies to professional esports players). If this rule is violated, the user will be banned for 12 months for the main account, and permanently for the new account.
