GeT_RiGhT leaves the Dignitas organization
Swedish esportsman GeT_RiGhT has announced his departure from the Dignitas organization. The 32-year-old Swede announced this on his social networks. Recall that GeT_RiGhT has been a content creator for the North American club for the last year and a half.
Today is my last day at Dignitas. On January 1, 2020, I joined forces with my former NIP teammates with the simple goal of being able to compete at TIER-1 again. Fast forward to September 16 of the same year. After a joint decision, I was excluded from the main composition of Dignitas. I suddenly found myself in a situation where I had to think outside the box - and I had to think about my life as a former professional Counter Strike player.
For a long time I thought about my position and the direction in which I should move. As you may know, I decided to get into streaming and have no regrets.
In collaboration with my management, I planned my next steps and after discussions with Dignitas it was decided that I should stay on board to become one of the organization's content creators. A decision that has since had a significant impact on my daily life; with my health and reconnection with things and people that I have neglected over the years.
However, as the old saying goes, “all good things come to an end.” I owe a lot to Dignitas - and to the kind people behind the scenes. One thing is for sure, I will continue to stream. 5 years ago, I never imagined the impact streaming would have on my daily life, but since then I have loved it.
GeT_RiGhT made a name for himself over a decade ago when he won a number of TIER-1 tournaments in CS 1.6 with Fnatic. After moving to CS:GO, the 32-year-old Swedish player has continued to rock the competitive scene by becoming the champion of many big events with the NIP:
- ESL One: Cologne 2014
- DreamHack Masters Malmo 2016
- StarLadder i-League StarSeries Season 2
- Intel Extreme Masters XI - Oakland
- Intel Extreme Masters XII - Oakland
However, GeT_RiGhT did not have a successful career at Dignitas, where he joined at the beginning of 2020. A season later, the legendary Swede hung up his keyboard to focus his efforts on streaming.
Interestingly, on the eve of GeT_RiGhT, f0rest and friberg decided to team up again to take part in the open qualifiers for IEM Road to Rio 2022 for Europe. However, the team lost their match with AVANGAR (15:19) at one of the early stages, leaving the qualifiers.
