Fifflaren steps down as Dignitas esports director
Fifflaren has announced that he is stepping down as esports director for North American esports organization Dignitas. Recall that last month the club announced its departure from the CS:GO discipline, and even earlier parted ways with the Swedish roster. In his message, the 34-year-old Swede added that he intends to stay in eSports and is open to new offers.
After almost 3 years yesterday was my last day at Dignitas. I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to lead their esports team along with some of the hardest working and most dedicated people.
I am excited to use the experience I have gained over the past 17 years in the industry for a new opportunity. I have covered esports/management of content makers, projects and livestreams, although I am open to other opportunities as well.
Fifflaren is one of the most titled Swedish esportsmen. As a player, the 34-year-old Swede won DreamHack Winter 2012, Copenhagen Games 2013, ESEA Global Finals Season 14 and ESL One: Cologne 2014, and also reached the finals of DreamHack Winter 2013 and ESL Major Series One Katowice 2014.
After ending his coaching and managerial career in 2020, Fifflaren remained with the Dignitas organization, taking on the duties of esports director. As a result, the Swede supported the development of the entire esports division of the club, and also worked directly with the CS:GO roster, where his former Ninjas in Pajamas teammates GeT_RiGhT, Xizt, friberg and f0rest played then.
However, the team never managed to reach the TIER-1 level, having won several minor championships, including BLAST Nordic Masters: Spring 2021 and BLAST Nordic Masters: Fall 2021. In the end, the North American esports organization Dignitas CS:GO by disbanding the roster and announcing their retirement from the discipline.
