Danny Engels: "Our lineup of 15 will change esports"
Danny Engels, Director of Game Excellence for North American esports organization Evil Geniuses, told the Sports Business Journal what inspired the club to sign two additional CS:GO rosters. During the conversation, the functionary expressed the hope that in the future this approach would bear fruit and change eSports.
Our lineup of 15 people will change esports. This is something the industry has never seen before. Our goal is to achieve victories in the future. To be one step ahead of the competition, we must do what no one has done before. Now Evil Geniuses is working on building infrastructure that will help change the usual approach and make the work of the CS:GO division closer to traditional sports. This is necessary to move away from the well-known concept of training, when players just play five on five all day. It is also important for our club to correctly indicate its presence in tournaments, which are now very numerous.
Obviously the new approach will help Evil Geniuses, but we also want to help the entire professional scene in our region. I mean providing development opportunities for young esports players from North America. Currently, there are not many ways for talent to develop. We hope that our organization will show what we need to strive for and give a starting impetus to many players.
Recall that in early June, the North American esports organization Evil Geniuses confirmed the purchase of two additional CS:GO rosters. The club announced the signing of Carpe Diem and Party Astronauts to form their new 15-player roster.
According to the organization's statements, next year it is planned to create one "flexible" team out of 15 players, in which rotation will take place.
The Evil Geniuses CS:GO roster is currently as follows:
- Brehze.
- CeRq.
