Official: smooya leaves fnatic
The British esports organization has officially announced changes to its CS:GO roster, moving smooya to the bench. Recall that the 22-year-old Briton has been playing for the club since October last year. It is reported that the place in the fnatic roster will go to regali, who previously played for Fnatic Rising.
Team manager Samuelsson spoke about the changes in the roster:
We recognize and appreciate the hard work and amazing games that smooya put into our run in Katowice, but we have come to the conclusion that he is currently not a good fit for our core CS:GO roster. We think now is the right time to let smooya explore its possibilities. Owen has given himself completely to Fnatic and has been a big contributor to our performances over the past few months. Myself and the whole team would like to thank him for the wonderful memories we shared and the entertainment he provided for us.
smooya joined fnatic in test mode last October, replacing Jackinho in the roster. During this time, the 22-year-old British sniper helped the team win DreamHack Open November 2021 and REPUBLEAGUE Season 2, as well as take 7-8th place in the Intel Extreme Masters XVI - Winter. Earlier it was reported that the organization decided to part with the player without his knowledge even before the start of IEM Katowice 2022.
In turn, regali has been playing for fnatic's youth team since July last year. Together with the team, the Romanian esportsman took third place in the WePlay Academy League Season 1. Note that the sniper has already helped fnatic at Elisa Invitational Fall 2021, when the team took 7-8th place.
The fnatic roster for the upcoming championships is as follows:
- KRIMZ.
- Brolan.
- Alex.
- mezi.
- Regali.
- keita (coach).
