BLAST tournament calendar for 2022 season presented

Tournament operator BLAST has presented a calendar of tournaments under the auspices of BLAST Premier. The championship series will start in February and end in December 2022.

The season will start with Spring Groups, from where the best teams from each group will be selected for the Spring Finals (this is the main difference from the previous season, when the two best teams from each group advanced). At the same time, the remaining nine teams will go to the Spring Showdown, where they will meet with 11 more teams that have passed the regional qualifiers and rating seeding (the organizers will issue two invites based on their own rating). This championship is scheduled for April. From here, the five teams will proceed to the Spring Finals, due in June 2022.

Fall Groups will start in September and will follow a similar format as the spring part of the season. Fall Showdown will take place in October, which will also include nine teams from Fall Groups, two invited teams, as well as teams that have passed a sieve of regional qualifiers. The top five Fall Showdown teams will head to the Fall Finals in November.

In December, the tournament operator intends to hold the World Final 2022, which will include the best teams at the end of the season, as well as the teams with the most points in the BLAST rating.

As a reminder, the BLAST Premier partner teams are OG, NAVI, G2 Esports, Astralis, Vitality, Complexity, BIG, FaZe Clan, Evil Geniuses, Ninjas in Pajamas, MIBR and Team Liquid. It is these commands that will begin their journey already within Spring Groups.
