daps says goodbye to Evil Geniuses
daps released an official statement announcing his departure from Evil Geniuses early next year. The 28-year-old Canadian esportsman spoke about the nuances of his transition to the club, and also shared behind-the-scenes work with the team.
When I joined this team, I came to it with the understanding that it was necessary to make 1-2 changes. But I still had to see how bad the problems in the team were in order to make the right decision.
At the same time, daps emphasized that later he insisted on radical changes in the composition of the team, which was unable to compete with the best teams in the world. In particular, the Canadian asked the organization to transfer NAF from Team Liquid.
Once we got to the offseason and EG removes three players. At this point, I propose a roster with NAF as a central figure, but it falls through for various reasons, and I also inform EG at the same time that I no longer want to train after my experience over the past six months.
Also daps announced that he intends to resume his player's career.
As for me, I want to play again after my experience here, I don't think I would coach again if I didn't have the opportunity to make changes to the lineup.
My contract ends on January 14, 2022.
As a reminder, daps joined Evil Geniuses as a coach in the summer of 2021. However, in six months, the 28-year-old Canadian specialist did not lead the team to success. In addition, the esportsman managed to try on the role of the team captain when stanislaw was absent.
Most recently, Evil Geniuses announced the appointment of a new head coach, maLeK. The 35-year-old French specialist replaced daps in this role, whose future remained in limbo.
The current roster of Evil Geniuses is as follows:
- Brehze.
- CeRq.
- maLeK (head coach).
