TOP 10 best players in 2021: 9th place - huNter-
The EGamersWorld portal continues a series of materials dedicated to the best players of the season. The ninth place in our rating is occupied by huNter - a versatile fighter of the G2 Esports team, taking on the roles of both a lurker and a defensive midfielder/support.
You can familiarize yourself with the criteria and see a description of the assessment parameters in our previous material.
This is not to say that the Bosnian has had an outstanding season in terms of individual achievements. However, his contribution to the G2 Esports game can hardly be underestimated, given all the difficulties of the team this season.
The year for huNter- and G2 Esports began bleak, as the team couldn't find their game for several months, looking for an alternative to the out-of-motivation sniper. As a result, until April, the team showed controversial results, while the 25-year-old Bosnian could hardly envy his position.
Nevertheless, in the spring, the team took second place at BLAST Premier: Spring Showdown 2021, thereby qualifying for Spring Finals 2021. Around the same time, G2 Esports finally parted ways with kennyS, returning to JaCkz and at the same time putting AmaNEk in the role of the main sniper...
During this period, huNter- managed to flourish as the Bosnian started showing stable play, leading to the semifinals of DreamHack Masters Spring 2021 and Intel Extreme Masters XVI - Summer, as well as the bronze medals of Flashpoint Season 3 and BLAST Premier: Spring Finals 2021.
Before the international break, G2 Esports had their first breakthrough. The team went to Cologne, where they took out all their rivals in the tournament, losing only to NAVI in the grand final. Nevertheless, in the first LAN tournament of the season, the Bosnian showed a fantastic performance, finishing the championship with a rating of 1.11, absolutely deservedly earning an EVP.
After the break, the results of G2 Esports disappeared somewhere, as the team could not come to their senses for a long time. Here the team managed to fatally end their performance at ESL Pro League Season 14, losing all five games in the group. At the same time, huNter- continued to fever at BLAST Premier Fall Groups 2021, once again showing a dull game and ending the championship with a 1.04 rating.
However, towards the end of the season, G2 Esports unexpectedly broke through, while huNter- took over the role of one of the leaders of the team. As a result, the team held a relatively successful RMR tournament in Stockholm, thanks to which they directly got into the Legends of PGL Major Stockholm 2021.
The 25-year-old cybersportsman continued to show cool CS in PGL Major 2021, thanks to which G2 Esports absolutely deservedly reached the final, taking the second place.
The ending of the season for the Bosnian turned out to be controversial. On the one hand, the team reached the semifinals of IEM Winter 2021, while huNter himself showed one of the best individual performances of the season. Nevertheless, G2 Esports already played this tournament without a head coach, who left the team at the end of PGL Major Stockholm 2021.
Why was huNter- ranked ninth?
This is not to say that the Bosnian was a star by the standards of the current state of the scene. In addition, huNter was definitely not considered the main one in his team, staying behind NiKo's back. Nevertheless, as soon as the 25-year-old Bosnian opened up and showed his characteristic game, G2 Esports always added confidence and, as a result, results.
HuNter statistics for the season:
- Rating - 4.7075 .
- ADR - 79.8.
- K/D - 1.10.
- Impact - 1.10.
- The number of clutches is 58.
- The number of cards played is 185.
Based solely on individual player statistics, huNter- had a relatively modest season. In addition, G2 Esports has not won a single championship in a year. Nevertheless, the Bosnian played an important role in building the game of his team, which ended up in the finals of the two main tournaments of the season - IEM Cologne 2021 and PGL Major Stockholm 2021.
In addition, the versatility of huNter over and over again added flexibility to G2 Esports, which, given the far from the strongest roster, became the starting point for the team's high achievements in big tournaments.
