maLeK became the head of Evil Geniuses
North American esports organization Evil Geniuses has introduced a new head coach for the CS: GO roster. maLeK will lead the new project Evil Geniuses, which will soon be joined by Stewie2K and automatic.
For the past three years, the 35-year-old French specialist has led the G2 Esports team, which has led to victories in the Good Game League 2019, Champions Cup Finals, BLAST Premier: Spring 2020 Regular Season and BLAST Premier: Fall 2020 Regular Season. In addition, under the leadership of maLeK, the team reached the final at ESL Pro League Season 9 - Finals, Intel Extreme Masters XIV - World Championship, Intel Extreme Masters XVI - Cologne and PGL Major Stockholm 2021.
However, after the championship in Stockholm, the specialist announced his departure from G2 Esports, which came as a surprise to the community. In turn, a number of authoritative sources announced the coach's interest in working with the new project Evil Geniuses. Stewie2K and automatic are expected to join the North American organization. At the same time, the team has yet to find a fifth player, which may turn out to be tarik, who had previously played for Evil Geniuses.
In addition, the organization managed to persuade Brehze to stay, as the player had already intended to leave for VALORANT and even trained with the 100 Thieves squad.
After this appointment, there are unknown prospects for daps, which in the summer was headed by Evil Geniuses, having returned from VALORANT. The Canadian has several options for development: become an assistant coach, transfer to the role of captain, or leave the team. In any case, the organization will reveal more details regarding its new project soon.
The current roster of Evil Geniuses is as follows:
- Brehze.
- CeRq.
- maLeK (head coach).
