In a recent statement, Activision thanked the community for its support but clarified that its primary focus remains on Call of Duty: Mobile, which continues to receive regular updates and active development.

Warzone Mobile’s Gradual Wind-Down

The shutdown follows an earlier decision in 2025 to remove Warzone Mobile from the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. After the delisting, the game stopped receiving seasonal updates and major content additions, and real-money purchases were disabled.

Players who had already installed the game were still able to access online matchmaking, with cross-progression features remaining functional. Servers stayed operational, allowing the existing player base to continue playing with previously unlocked content.

However, the confirmation of the April 17, 2026 shutdown means that all remaining online functionality will soon come to an end. Once the servers are deactivated, Warzone Mobile will no longer be playable in its intended online format.

Confusion Over Brief Google Play Listing

Following the game’s removal from digital storefronts, a brief and unexpected reappearance on the Google Play Store sparked speculation about a possible revival. The page showed pre-registration options, leading some players to believe that Activision might be preparing a relaunch.

It now appears that the listing was the result of a backend update on Google Play, likely targeting users who had previously installed the game. No official relaunch plans were ever announced, and the game’s iOS store page did not return.
