Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Showcases Multiplayer Maps, Weapons, and Beta Dates
The latest gameplay trailer for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 has unveiled the full scope of its multiplayer offering, including all 18 launch maps, 30 new weapons, more than 20 killstreaks, and an October Open Beta period. Slated to release in November 2025, the next Black Ops entry is positioning itself as one of the biggest multiplayer launches in the franchise’s history.
The Open Beta begins on October 2, 2025, for players who pre-order the game. It opens to all other players on October 5 and runs until October 8. The timing places Black Ops 7’s testing phase just a month after the launch of Battlefield 6, setting up a competitive holiday season for first-person shooters.
New design allows players to maneuver more freely, giving them greater control over positioning and weapon handling. The increased mobility feeds directly into firefights, enabling players to adapt to changing combat situations more effectively.
Weapon variety also plays a major role in Black Ops 7. The Peacekeeper Mk1, an assault rifle with an integrated grenade launcher, was one of the standout reveals. Akimbo pistols, incendiary shotguns, and armor-piercing sniper rifles are also joining the lineup. In total, 30 weapons will be available at launch, each with its own customization options. Treyarch is also reintroducing Weapon Prestige while debuting Weapon Build Sharing, which lets players replicate custom loadouts from others.
Explosives and gadgets also expand the sandbox. The Cluster Grenade introduces a controllable fuse and secondary blast effect, making it one of the more versatile tools in multiplayer. Killstreaks appear to be taking an ambitious leap forward, with players able to control drone-mounted cannons, scan environments with a Millimeter Scanner optic, or even summon an automaton warrior to fight alongside them. Another standout is D.A.W.G., a quadrupedal sentry drone armed with a heavy arsenal.
Alongside weapons and killstreaks, Black Ops 7 is also introducing 18 multiplayer maps. These arenas span a wide range of locations, from warships to icy caverns, designed to support the game’s 6v6 core modes. Two additional maps, Edge and Tide, are exclusive to the larger-scale 20v20 Skirmish mode. Longtime fans will recognize the return of three classic Black Ops 2 maps, remastered with updated visuals and gameplay flow.
