Beavis & Butt-Head Invade Season 4 Reloaded

The event will go live with the Season 4 Reloaded update, set to drop today, July 2. This mid-season refresh is packed with content for both Black Ops 6 and Warzone players. On the Multiplayer side, fans can look forward to the return of Fringe, the classic map from Black Ops 3, as well as a brand-new battleground called Eclipse.

For Warzone players, a new mode called Resurgence Casual makes its debut. This hybrid experience combines real players and bots—specifically 12 humans and 32 AI opponents—offering a more relaxed and accessible variant of the traditional Battle Royale. However, because of the presence of bots, matches won’t contribute to player stats or progression.

Event Pass Details: Free and Premium Options

Unlike previous collaborations that were limited to store bundles, this crossover includes a full Event Pass with both free and premium reward tracks.

  • The free tier includes:
  1. Two exclusive weapons
  2. Two operator skins based on Beavis & Butt-Head
  3. A 1-hour Double XP token
  4. Additional cosmetics
  • The premium version, priced at 1,100 COD Points, expands on this with:
  1. Enhanced Beavis & Butt-Head operator skins
  2. A new finishing move
  3. Unique emote
  4. Three weapon blueprints
  5. Several other themed items

Community Response: Excitement Meets Backlash

Despite the novelty of the crossover, the Call of Duty community remains divided. Longtime fans are growing increasingly frustrated with what they view as outlandish and unrealistic operator skins. The Beavis & Butt-Head designs have already been criticized as “eyesores” by some vocal players who prefer a more grounded visual tone for the franchise.

There’s also pushback against the monetization strategy. With Call of Duty already offering multiple Battle Pass options each season—free, premium, and BlackCell—some fans see the addition of yet another paid Event Pass as excessive. Previous collaborations with Squid Game and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles faced similar criticism, as players accuse Activision of leaning too heavily into microtransactions.
