Warzone Players Risk Permanent Bans for AFK XP Farming in Plunder

Warzone players are sounding the alarm after reports surfaced of permanent bans linked to AFK farming in Plunder mode to grind Battle Pass XP.

The Problem: Farming Battle Pass XP Through AFK Play

Unlike weapons or rank progression — which are earned through performance — Battle Pass XP in Warzone is tied solely to playtime. This has led many players with limited schedules to seek shortcuts by going AFK (away from keyboard) in Plunder to passively level up.

To avoid being kicked for inactivity, players often use creative tricks to keep their characters moving while not actually participating in matches. While it may seem harmless, Activision is now taking action.

🔨 Activision Cracks Down: Bans for “Boosting”

Players report receiving permanent account bans, with no prior warning, for what Activision defines as “boosting.” Among them is streamer LastChanceFPS, who says they were permanently banned on July 17. Their appeal was denied, with Activision confirming the punishment was due to “boosting.”

🔍 Activision’s Terms of Service defines boosting as:

“Any user who colludes with another user to exploit the game for the purpose of gaining XP, prestige, game score, weapon level, or in-game unlocks.”

While AFK farming isn’t specifically named, the rules also warn that any content earned outside of normal gameplay may trigger penalties — possibly putting AFK Battle Pass farming in the danger zone.

🧠 Why Is This Happening Now?

According to YouTuber Speros, some believe this method is being used by cheat providers to farm and sell “trusted” accounts:

“Farming XP like this increases your matches played and overall trust score. This is how some cheat sellers prep accounts.”

Whether or not this is the main reason, it seems AFK behavior is now on Activision’s radar, with automated systems possibly flagging suspicious inactivity.

⚠️ Community Backlash & What You Should Know

Many players are frustrated by the lack of warnings and the severity of the penalties, especially when permanent bans are issued for what they see as a minor offense.

However, as of now, Activision has not released an official statement addressing the situation or clarifying policy changes.

What Should You Do?

If you're thinking of leaving your game idle in Plunder to farm XP — don’t. ⚠️ With bans being issued without warning, it’s no longer a safe or viable method to progress through the Battle Pass.

Stick to regular gameplay to avoid losing your account — and potentially years of progress.
