Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Players Confused by Unannounced Nacht Raider Skin Change
Players of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 have been left perplexed following a major yet unannounced change to the Nacht Raider operator skin in the game’s Season 2 update. The skin, granted as a free reward for reaching Prestige 1, underwent a significant modification without any mention in the official patch notes. The update, which went live on January 28, introduced numerous bug fixes and fresh content, yet the unexpected alteration to Nacht Raider caught many by surprise.
Operator Skins Continue to Spark Controversy
The debate surrounding Call of Duty's increasingly outlandish operator skins has been ongoing for years, and Black Ops 6 has only fueled the discussion further. From neon green dragons to unicorn-themed finishing moves, the game has embraced a more fantastical approach to cosmetics—much to the dismay of many fans. However, some more grounded skins remain available, including the zombified version of Weaver, which players can earn upon reaching Prestige 1.
Season 2’s Sudden Nacht Raider Change
With a majority of players having already reached Prestige 1, the Nacht Raider skin has become a favorite among the community. However, after the Season 2 update, Treyarch Studios appears to have altered the skin significantly. As reported by ModernWarzone on Twitter, the updated version of Nacht Raider now features a large skull, an addition that was not present before and was omitted from the official patch notes. This unexplained change has led to speculation among fans, with some believing it to be a bug, though Treyarch has yet to comment on the matter.
While this change does not affect gameplay, it adds to a growing list of issues frustrating players. The Season 2 update aimed to fix one of the game’s most persistent bugs—where players would repeatedly see the "Congratulations, you've Mastered Prestige" screen after every match. However, despite the patch, some players are still encountering this issue. Additional problems introduced in the update include difficulties in joining friends' parties and players being kicked while using split-screen mode. Fortunately, Treyarch has acknowledged these problems and is actively investigating solutions.
Warzone Fans Disappointed by Limited Season 2 Content
While Black Ops 6 received a substantial content update, Warzone fans were once again left wanting more. Ahead of the update, Activision announced that Warzone would receive fewer new features in Season 2 due to a focus on gameplay balance, bug fixes, and quality-of-life improvements. As a result, Season 2 introduced only one new perk (with another set to arrive in a mid-season update) and fresh Ranked Play rewards.
Although Call of Duty: Black Ops 6’s Season 2 update has brought improvements and new content, unexpected changes like the Nacht Raider modification and lingering technical issues continue to spark discussion within the community.
