Modern Warfare 3’s open-world Zombies mode has been revealed
The creator of the "Zombies" mode and the Black Ops studio, Treyarch, are leading the development of this mode, which is making its debut in the Call of Duty Modern Warfare sub-series.
Below, you can watch a cinematic trailer introducing the open world where players are invited to join forces with other squads to combat the undead.
"Get ready to confront a greater quantity of undead than ever before as Operation Deadbolt participants undertake complex and multi-stage tasks, while Soap and his team try to stop Zakhaev and Terminus from plundering more resources and prevent the current threat from spreading out of control," says the accompanying blog by Activision.
"By combining the best features of Modern Warfare maps and systems with the time-tested core features of Treyarch Zombies, Modern Warfare Zombies offers a completely new interpretation of the fan-favorite third game mode, launching alongside the Campaign and Multiplayer when Modern Warfare III is released.
"Prepare to contain the incursion in different regions that become more challenging as you progress, with core Zombies features and a multitude of secrets to discover.
"Get ready for an open-world, player-versus-environment (PvE) survival experience that can be shared with other squads, along with several special story missions. Expect to encounter various elements, challenges, and cinematic scenes that emphasize key plot developments."
The release of Modern Warfare 3 is scheduled for November 10, 2023, and it is a direct sequel to last year's Modern Warfare 2. The development is being led by Sledgehammer in collaboration with Infinity Ward.
