leaf officially joins Cloud9 Blue
North American team Cloud9 Blue has announced that it has signed a contract with former pro CS: GO player - leaf The 17-year-old American is one of two players to replace the departed shinobi and TenZ. It is likely that the team will introduce a fifth player in the near future, as the qualifying process for the VALORANT Champions Tour 2021 will begin very soon.
This news marks the official debut of the player in VALORANT, after several years of appearing as a rising star on the CS: GO scene. Unofficially, leaf has been part of Cloud9 Blue since early December, having played for the team during the JBL Quantum Cup.
According to insiders, leaf was in testing on Cloud9 Blue even before the game launched last summer. However, negotiations fell apart due to the fact that the player accepted an offer from Chaos to pursue a career in CS: GO.
Despite victories at IEM Beijing and DreamHack Masters: Winter, Chaos disbanded the lineup and left the North American stage at the end of the year. Since then, leaf and vanity have moved to VALORANT while the remaining Chaos players are left without a team.
Probably the fifth player of the team will be xeta, who also played for Cloud9 Blue in recent tournaments. In addition, the South Korean player has already entered the team for the upcoming VCT 2021: North America Stage 1 Challengers 1 Qualifier. However, as the coronavirus pandemic continues, it is unknown when Xeta will receive a visa to officially join the squad.
The current roster of Cloud9 Blue is as follows:
- Relyks.
- mitch.
- vice.
- leaf.
- JamezIRL (trainer).
