koosta is part of Gen.G on VALORANT
Former professional CS: GO player, koosta, has officially moved to VALORANT by signing with Gen.G. The 24-year-old American has played for the Gen.G CS: GO roster since December 2019. During this time, the player won DreamHack Open Anaheim 2020 and ESL One: Road to Rio - North America, reaching 12th in the world rankings last June.
After more than 6 years of CS: GO career, koosta joins the growing roster of North American players who have decided to try their hand at VALORANT. He first hit the spotlight in 2016 when he joined Liquid, and a few months later with Counter Logic Gaming. Making it to the top six in the ESL Pro League in 2016, he spent most of 2018 outside of big tournaments.
His tenure at Ghost saw him rise from the ashes, finishing in fours at the ZOTAC Cup Masters and iBUYPOWER Masters IV, then moving to Cloud9. After Cloud9's roster became part of Gen.G, the team won the DreamHack Open Anaheim in the early months of 2020, before the scene went online following the spread of COVID-19. The last major achievement for the team was ESL One: Road to Rio - North America. However, in the fall, the team stopped showing results, which led to the dissolution of the team and the departure of the organization from CS: GO.
Gen.G joined VALORANT last May. The team has since won several championships including the T1 x Nerd Street Gamers Invitational, Pittsburgh Knights Tournament Series, Pulse Invitational, and Pittsburgh Knights Before Christmas. However, at the end of December, the team lost PLAYER1, forcing Gen.G to look for a fifth player.
With this transfer, Gen.G's roster looks like this:
- gMd.
- MkaeL.
- huynh.
- Shawn.
- koosta.
- Blank (trainer).
